Matale is a great place for high expensive prices like vanilla. The conventional vanilla farming required more water and fertilizer resources. For decades, vanilla farmers used traditional irrigation methodologies. Due to that, a large proportion of fresh water wasted by evaporation and run off. So, SenzAgro solution introduced sensor based climate smart irrigation practices for SME vanilla farmers in Matale.
This was funded by GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation) to support complete drip irrigation system and SenzAgro smart sensor based instruction platform.
